WINS Server
Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) provides a dynamic replicated database service that can register and resolve NetBIOS names to IP addresses used on your network. Windows 2000 Server provides WINS, which enables the server computer to act as a NetBIOS name server and register and resolve names for WINS-enabled client computers on your network as described in the NetBIOS over TCP/IP standards.

Install WINS Server
- Open [Windows Components Wizard], select [Network Services] and click [Details...]

- Select [Winsows Internet Name Service(WINS)] and click [OK]

Replication Partners
Replication partners are other WINS servers that share and replicate data. Replicating data between multiple WINS servers increases performance, availability, and reliability for your WINS clients
.
- Open [WINS] window, right click [Replication Partners] and click [Net Replication Partner...]

- Type the name or IP address of replication partner

- Finish
