  1. You can configure scheduled scans for all servers or individual servers.
  2. Right click the Server group and choose All Tasks - Norton AntiVirus - Scheduled Scans
  3. Click New... to create a new scheduled scan.
  4. It is recommended that servers be scanned weekly, preferably early in the morning of a week day. However, do not schedule a scan during a backup to avoid straining resources on your servers. Early Monday morning is a good time as back-ups are seldom done at that time and there will someone at work on Monday to respond to any error reports or viruses found.

  5. Click Advanced. Set the Missed Events Option to within 3 days. This is useful if the schedule scan was missed - eg. the server was switched off or something went wrong. However if the scheduled time will interfere with other events on following days, you may prefer to not tick this option.

  6. Note, if you configure a Server Group scan, all local hard disks of each server are scanned. To scan specific areas only, you must configure separate scans for individual servers. For example, you may wish to scan the user areas more frequently, so configure one nightly scan or create multiple scans for different days of the week. To do this, right click a single Server and choose All Tasks - Norton AntiVirus - Scheduled Scans

  7. With an individual server scan of a specific drive or folder, you may with to set the frequency to daily, early in the morning. Click Scan Settings, select the folders to scan. Click Options and set the appropriates options.

  8. Click Advanced and set the appropriate options.

  9. Click Advanced on the Schedule Scan window. Remove the tick for the Handle missed events within box. If the event is missed, you do not want to run this any number of hours later to prevent it from interfering with other services which may running - eg. a back-up.

  10. You can configure multiple schedules to run with different options for each scan, specifying which files types are scanned and the actions to perform when an infected file is discovered.
