NAVCE7.5 - Configuring the Server Group Virus Definition Manager

1. Right click your Server Group and choose All Tasks - Norton AntiVirus - Virus Definition Manager.

2. Notice that references in the title bar and elsewhere on the window are for the Server Group name. If you had right clicked on a Server and chosen Virus Definition Manger, references in the title bar would be for the Server only.


3. In the How Servers Retrieve Virus Definition Updates section, select Update the Primary Sever of this Sever Group only if not already selected.
4. Click Schedule... to specify the source and schedule of the updates.


5. Set the schedule for every day and click Advanced.


6. In the Missed Events Options section, tick the box Handle missed events within: and set the hours of the scheduled time to 8.
   In the Randomization Options section, tick the box Perform update within plus or minus: and set the minutes of the scheduled time to 15.
   

7. Click OK twice to return to the Configure Primary Server Updates window.
8. Click Update Now to begin a background update. Then click OK twice to return to the SSC console.


9. Within a few minutes your definition files will be updated. Press F5 to refresh the screen.
10. When updated, the exclamation mark from the Server Group folder will disappear and your Primary Server will be labelled with a white circle and blue arrow.
